My initial thought is to uninstall the boxing game, do a System Restore to before I started having problems with Ghost, and then delete Ghost since I'm no longer inclined to keep it. but could it be contributing to my problems as well? To download it, simply run LiveUpdate through Norton user interface.
This update is available in all supported languages. As with our previous updates, this version is being released in a phased manner.
as a secondary question, will it do anything to my computer if I delete that program, and if I do what will happen to the partitioned part of my drive where it's supposed to be putting the backups. Norton Security 22.21.10.40 for Windows is now available Norton Security 22.21.10.40 update is now available via LiveUpdate. I'm about ready to uninstall that anyway and just rely on Windows System Restore .
I contacted Symantec on that and did what they told me to (delete all TEMP files) and I'm no longer having the bootup problems but the software is still not working like it is supposed to, it's not creating any recovery points at all because it thinks the backup part of my hard drive is full when it's not. Short version, the software stopped making recovery points because it thought the backup area of my hard drive was full but it isn't, and it was causing problems with me trying to boot my system up, I know that was it because it's absolutely the only variable that had changed on my system at that particular point in time. I have contacted the folks who offer it, they offer email tech support and a troubleshooting forum like this one, to see if they've had any experience with issues like this, whether the program might have done something to a driver that Windows doesn't like and to see if there are any fixes, because even though I love the game, if it's going to cause problems and conflicts I'm going to lose it.Īlso, I have had problems in the past week with Norton Ghost, which came installed on my system for a trial run. I really hate to do that because it's a great game, one of the best sports games I've ever played. Do I need to uninstall that boxing game? It's the most recent variable that changed on my computer before this problem. It has substantial bells and whistles and graphics, etc., although as I noted my son was playing the regular Solitaire game that comes with Windows XP.
I need some advice as to how to troubleshoot this driver problem, as in how should I go about tracking down and repairing what is wrong?įYI, I did download some new software to the computer night before last, a boxing game called Title Bout. I am aware this is a driver problem and from some research in other places I've gathered that this is a sound card driver problem. My wife did write down what appeared on the screen before she shut the computer down. This happened spontaneously while my 8-year-old was on the computer playing Solitaire. While I was at work last night, my wife called me in a frenzy to let me know that our Dell E-310 computer, two months old, running Windows XP Media, Service Pack 2 and current with all updates, gave the Blue Screen of Death and did an IRQL-NOT-LESS-OR-EQUAL error and a physical memory dump.
